Background

The facility situated at 78a Beech Gate Ave inside South Gate Industrial Park is leased to Engen Petroleum is used as queuing terminal for bulk fuel tankers. Slope on west side had been constructed at 35⁰ angle of repose had remained stable since land development back in the early 1980s. On 10 June 2017, Durban’s heaviest storm in history causing damages estimated to be R1.6 billion . Large mass movement on this slope. Dson Industries had been jobs in the area and was approached by Mr. Mike Naidoo of Facility manager to advise on effective solution and cost to restore order. On our first site visit as we always do thorough site investigation. Dson Industries was able to to identify water seepages from a Storm Water Manhole located at the head of the slope on the neighbour’s side .

Delivery of materials to site.
Smaller Available space for Materials. Orders would be offloaded quite a low way from the wall As a result, the logistics, costs and efficiencies involved in coordinating deliveries at the site at regular intervals in volumes that could be easily managed and processed—to best suit the installation team—was another challenge.

Deliveries were decreased , meaning the deliveries could be made more efficiently to handle onsite , rather partially-full loads than full.
